![]() ![]() With a duplex printer it will involve passing the paper through the printer twice. In particular it will require manual processing of the document through the printer. The process is rather tedious compared to some other software packages which can deliver the result with a few mouse clicks. The instructions are based heavily on and with due recognition to the MVP FAQ. This process is described for MS Word 2013. I'm happy to share this for all and sundry. It is tedious compared to the old WordPerfect clicks I used to use. The best I've been able to find involves a process of mirrored margins and setting a gutter before printing. It may be that Word is not capable of producing the output I want, in which case I would consider solutions that use other software as acceptable answers as well. I am looking for a way to generate the correct page layout and order. Pressing Portrait is disabled however, and when I press OK it reverts into the normal two landscape pages on a portrait sheet. If I select Book fold and swap the dimensions, I get a preview showing me the exact layout I want. In Word, I can even change my Page Setup into what I'm looking for, but the changes don't save. Instead of portrait A4:s with my pages as two "columns", I get landscape A4:s with most of the content cut off. I have previously used the Create Booklet menu item for OS X with great success, but it fails me when I throw a 105 × 297 mm document at it. Microsoft Word is easy enough, but printing a booklet brings with it the challenge of getting the page order right, in particular with the non-standard size. Getting content lined up in two columns in e.g. ![]() The final booklet will be either 3 or 4 sheets of paper (12 or 16 pages when folded). The folded booklet will thus be 105 × 297 mm. Microsoft Office Publisher will insert pages so that the total number is a multiple of four, because one sheet of paper becomes four pages.I need to make a booklet using A4 paper, folded along the vertical axis (see image). If you are prompted to automatically insert pages, click Yes. Under Preview, you can see how two of the pages will appear when they are printed on one tabloid sheet. Make sure that the paper size is twice the page size. If Booklet, side-fold is not an available option, the selected paper size may be too small for the pages. Under Printing options, select Booklet, side-fold. Under Orientation, verify that Landscape is selected. Under Paper, verify that the 11-by-17-inch or tabloid paper size is selected. In the Printer name list, select a printer that can print on 11-by-17-inch or tabloid paper. On the File menu, click Print Setup, and then click the Publication and Paper Settings tab. Under Margin Guides, change the margins if you want. In the Page Setup dialog box, under Blank Page Sizes, click Booklets, and then click Letter Booklet 8.5 x 11". In the Format Publication task pane, under Publication Options, click Change Page Size. Open the publication that you want to print as a folded booklet. Alternatively, you can use manual 2-sided printing. When you photocopy the pages back to back, fold, and then staple or bind them together, they will be in the right order. If your printer doesn't support two-sided printing, Microsoft Publisher prints the first and last pages on one sheet of paper, the second and next-to-last on another sheet, and so on. Microsoft Office Publisher prints the first and last pages on one side of the sheet of paper, the second and next-to-last on the other side of the sheet, and so on, as shown here. ![]() Select any other options that you want, and then click OK to print the publication.
